Finally Kolkata sports fan got a treat, a sports museum, and we at Novo mannequin are honored to be a part of it.  We were selected to commission over 30 mannequin matching exact physique of each world class sports person.  Frankly, it was a big responsibility to create custom mannequin to fit sports jersey of individual sports person.

The entire project of creating over thirty mannequins and half bust, each one customized to fit cloths worn by the specific sportsman was challenging.  However, our team put together their expertise to deliver 4 days the project ahead of schedule.

Later our team installed each mannequin and carefully put each garment worn by the sports persons during some historic, record breaking event.  From Pele’s historic shirt worn in 1970 to Chelsea shirt of the 2012 Champions League winning team member Didier Drogba, all were fitted on made to order Novo mannequins and display dummies.

The Museum

The museum is located in Ecospace in New Town, Rajarhat, 25 km from Kolkata’s city centre.  The price for admission ticket is Rs 100 while students would get 50% discount.  Entry is free for past sports person who have played in any state level competition.  Spread over a massive 6700 square feet, the sports museum is a visual treat for sports fanatics. You are going to be spoiled by the choice of sports memorabilia that includes includes Tendulkar's 100th-century gloves, bat and jersey, PV Sindhu's silver medal winning jersey and Bindra's epic 2008 Olympics gold medal winning gloves.  There are also autographed memorabilia from tennis aces Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal and sprint king Usain Bolt.

While you enjoy the visual treat offered, we thank our staff and production team for creating  perfect mannequins to dress those great sports personalities.  The bust of Usian Bolt was a bit challenging as he has very small body frame with ripped muscles, quipped by production Supervisor.

Frankly, mannequin gets every where in our lives.  Here is an interesting way of using mannequin when driving.  Apprantly, a motorist in Auckland, NZ used a carpool lane to get home faster.  The fellow passenger was non complaining fully dressed mannequin who could not vouch for his driver when a traffic cop pulled over.  Here is the complete story

A scheming motorist was caught on camera using a car pool lane with a fully-dressed dummy in his passenger seat.

The 24-year-old clothed the mannequin in a denim shirt and sunglasses in a bid to use the lane for cars travelling with at least one passenger.

But a sharp-eyed police officer spotted the unusual looking passenger and stopped the hapless driver to get a closer look.

The motorist is said to have 'sheepishly' apologised and accepted a fine of around £70 for the harebrained scheme on a motorway in Auckland, New Zealand.

Senior Sergeant Brett Henshaw said it is not the first time motorists have come up with unconventional ways to use the car pool lanes.

He told the New Zealand Herald : "The driver was rather sheepish, apologised and said it was the first time he'd done it. He was given an infringement notice for unauthorised use of a special vehicle lane."

"Drivers who use lanes like this without having a bona-fide reason should be aware that we're regularly conducting patrols of them.

"No one enjoys sitting in traffic and we've all experienced the frustration of waiting your turn, only to see someone who is the sole occupant of their car sailing past in the T2 lane."

New York police department had an unusual call reporting a man on a billboard.  Several drivers reported a possible suicide attempt when they saw a man on a billboard.  It turned out to be a mannequin vying for attention of people driving by.

Here is complete story.

Deputies rushed to the scene on U.S. Highway 61 near Sperry, in Des Moines County, on Tuesday after receiving several reports about the possible jumper.  They tried to talk the man down, but he didn't react to their commands, reports KWQC.  One deputy then pulled out his binoculars and realized it was in fact a life-sized dummy.

"It was dark, they couldn't see," Sheriff Mike Johnstone told The Hawk Eye.

"They assumed it was someone jumping, but at some point they realized the person was not responding to their commands," he said.

"One of them pulled out their binoculars and realized it was a mannequin," he added.

The figure had been placed there by Brad Deery, the owner of a local car dealership.  It sat on top of the sign which read: "From up here, I can see Deery of Burlington.”  Deery took the dummy down on Friday.

"The sheriff didn't tell me to take it down, but when I heard about the 911 calls — I don't want to be tying up a line. I'm here to sell cars, not get people hurt," he told The Hawk Eye.

A reputed agency approached us with a requirement for mannequin needed for photo shoot.  The client was reluctant to use a mannequin with regular poses that is either hands by the side with straight pose or a Saree mannequin.

Mekhla is a traditional piece of garment popular with the Assamese women that can be an alternate to the saree.  Soumya Sircar, renowned photographer shot the Mekhla series in iMax studio as a tribute to artisans producing traditional Assamese cloths

It was decided to use a mannequin with unusual pose.  The results were stunning and surprised the photographer himself.  Here is the picture of our mannequin.
